If you are in a class and you are just trying keep up, this is not learning. You might be able to keep up and if not, it's a struggle. When you learn step by step like you would a language, you build on your skills, gain confidence and get to know and embrace yourself as you are.

Training

It's definitely not you. First, it's important  to learn the foundational actions and build up progressively instead of just trying to keep up. Iyengar yoga teachers undergo years of rigorous training and continual assessments to become certified in this time-honoured method. This training prepares them to teach all poses to all students in an intellgent, individualized way.

Iyengar yoga is a holistic practice that includes the whole meal of yoga. The student progressively learns it all: inversions, forward bend, backward bends, twists and restorative and pranayama in all -paces: active, dynamic, static and passive. Hi! I can't wait to share this practice with you! I am passionate about helping my fellow interpreters use the tools of yoga to get out of pain and feel stronger and more resilient.

I know your bodies because I suffer the same strains and pains. I also know that you are so dedicated, you forget to think about yourself. 

 

I know how important this practice can be for your body, mind and heart and I want to share it with you!
 

I'm a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher CIYT Level 3 and a Certified Yoga Therapist. Years of training, not just hours. Also, I have studied Cranial Sacral, Somatic Movement as well as Vedic Counseling with Dr. Frawley and am currently enrolled in an Ayurvedic course

Why this and not YouTube?


Youtube can start you off and it can help you practice. But this program is curated week by week to learn the fundamentals. You are led through a curriculm of learning. You aren't on your own! I'm there with weekly support, the community is there and I guide you all the way. AND you can come to the Live classes where I'll give you direct feedback. Oh! and you get a 1:1 private session so I can guide you even MORE! Now, if you value a relationship with your teacher then this is the main difference between The Foundations and following a youtuber who doesn't know you.




Isn't yoga all the same and for anyone?


The short answer is yes. Yoga means Union and in that all yoga is the same. There are many different styles. Iyengar yoga is systematic, progressive method of learning. If you stick with it, it will serve you for the rest of your life because it adapts to you. Now, this course is NOT therapeutic and it's dynamic. If you have a medical condition, limited movement or need a slow paced class, it is recommended that you see a medical professional to get permission or consider working one-on-one with a doctor, PT or yoga therapist like myself depending on your condition. This course is best for the active, self-motivated, courageous and cautious person who is ready to make a difference in your body and live.




I don’t have any props


That is ok! We all have a wall! And a chair. If you are physically fit and without injury, try without props! If you have balance issues, are fearful or have a condition you must have some props that you can use.




I don’t know if I’ll do the videos and make time.


I provide all the support I can to help you set yourself up for success and identify why you have even searched for a yoga course to do at home. Once you understand that why on a deep level, the time will be found. You might find the community support the most helpful or consider signing up for livestream class add-on




How technically savvy do I have to be?


The course is housed on a video platform that once you sign up it’s easy to return to. There is also direct access from my website. It would be best to have a large screen to view the video. You must have your video on for me to be able to see you. There is a tutorial on how to use the platform in the course before you get started.




I have acute pain or injury or physical limitations


I would recommend first go to a doctor and get a diagnosis. This program is not therapeutic and you might need personal, individual sessions before you are ready for this program
